Quality Installations since 1947.
Charles and Rita Forrence founded Gate City Fence in 1947. Charlie installed his first fence on Elm Street while Rita began the bookkeeping from their home on Walnut Street. Soon they would move to Ledge Street where the business could flourish to what it is today.
GCF Inc. has grown to a comfortable size in the past 56 years, able to service the greater Nashua, NH region. We are a very caring facility focused mainly on family, quality and service. |  |

we probably have it.

The Forrence Millhouse.
Our millhouse is stocked year round with fencing materials.
Many popular styles are built and stored during the winter months so we are better able to serve you.

 | Family Staffing.
Currently, 15 members of the Charles and Rita Forrence family are employed full time
at the 11 Ledge Street location, including their two sons Charles Jr. and Kenneth Sr.,
their married daughter Drusilla Peters, along with several grandchildren and nephews.

“Sign of Quality”
A fence from Gate City Fence is not completed until it is donned with one our “yellow” fence signs. The Gate City Fence sign has been around since our founding fathers first years in business. One might find one of our signs still in existence from as early as the 1950's.
The trademark sign is installed only on fences meeting the strictest of Gate City Fence quality standards. We etch in the back the date of installation and the names of the installation crew. It's a bit like quality control - and installation crew pride!
The Gate City Fence sign is a great benefit for you as a homeowner since we only service fences previously installed by us. Anything we put our name on carries the Gate City Fence guarantee of service for the lifetime of the fence.
Years (decades) later when your fence is worn and ready for replacement you (and all future homeowners) will always know what company installed your fence. For us it is a great thrill when we remove an old fence sign. Was it someone from our earlier days (50’s, 60’s) or perhaps a fence a bit more recent (70’s, 80’s).
So the next time you are out and about in the greater Nashua area, be on the lookout for our “yellow” signs. We usually install them on the post closest to the road.
